Book with Brandon

Brandon Kelvey is a physiotherapist based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and has been part of the PROactive team since 2019. He works with a wide range of clients, from athletes returning to sport to individuals managing persistent pain or looking to move with greater ease and confidence.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University. Since graduating, he has completed additional training in Biomedical Dry Needling and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization.

Outside the clinic, Brandon is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a certified yoga teacher, with over 200 hours of formal training. He has studied and taught martial arts for more than 15 years, including wrestling, Muay Thai, and boxing, and has coached at multiple gyms throughout the Halifax area.

Brandon’s movement background extends well beyond combat sports. He played hockey and soccer at the provincial level and has explored a variety of other activities including rugby, canoe and kayak racing, ultimate frisbee, CrossFit, and bouldering. Over the past 15 years, he has developed a well-rounded training approach that includes calisthenics, kettlebell work, powerlifting, and more recently, distance running. He continues to explore and apply diverse methods of physical training to support both his own development and the goals of his clients.

In the clinic, Brandon combines his evidence-based education with years of hands-on athletic and coaching experience. His sessions often include movement analysis, strength progression, soft tissue therapy, dry needling, and active mobility work. He places a strong emphasis on client education and autonomy, aiming to help each person understand their body and take meaningful steps toward recovery. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active in the community and can often be found walking his dog through Dartmouth or exploring the outdoors.

Brandon looks forward to supporting you in your rehabilitation and performance goals.
